Sugarcane crushing in Natore begins

NATORE, Nov 6 : Youth and Sports Minister Md. Ahad Ali Sarker formally inaugurated sugarcane crushing for 2010-2011 season at Natore sugar mills in Natore district as the chief guest on November 5 last while Managing director of Natore Sugar Mills Md.Sirazul Islam was present in Chair.
Chairman of Bangladesh Sugar and Food Industries Corporation (BSFIC) Ranjit Kumar Biswas, Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Natore Md. Mazibar Rahman were present as special guests.
The Natore sugar mills fixed target to produce 10,500 metric tons sugar by crushing 1,40,000 metric tons sugarcane within sugarcane crushing period which sugar recovery will be average 7.5 per cent.
Natore sugar mills crushed 55,120 metric tons sugarcane and sugar production was 3.727 metric tons during the crushing period in 2009-2010 season average recovery was 6.76 per cent.
