Sugarcane selling system through SMS launched

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina formally launched the digital purjee system (a kind of permit) Sunday at 15 sugar mills in the country to make sugarcane selling system easier through mobile phone SMS, report agencies.
She launched the epoch-making system from her office in the morning by sending SMS to a number of sugarcane farmers through mobile phones.
From now on, the sugarcane growers will be able to supply and sell their products directly receiving supply order from the procurement centres of the sugar mills through SMS.
"With the e-purjee system, it will permanently end all mischievous activities and cheating of the middlemen and will stop allowing anyone to play games with the fate of the poor farmers," Hasina said while inaugurating the system.
