Sun Pharma opens new plant in BD

Sun Pharmaceuticals (EZ) Ltd., a subsidiary of Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Limited (Sun Pharma), on Saturday announced the opening of a new manufacturing plant at Meghna Industrial Economic Zone in Narayanganj, says a press release.
The state-of-the-art facility is equipped with the latest technology and conforms to cGMP standards. It has an annual production capacity of approximately 1.0 billion tablets and capsules.
Salman F Rahman, Private Industry and Investment Adviser to the Prime Minister, inaugurated the plant in the presence of Pranay Verma, High Commissioner of India; Shaikh Yusuf Harun, Executive Chairman (Senior Secretary) of Bangladesh Economic Zones Authority; and Major General Mohammad Yousuf, Director General of Directorate General of Drug Administration (DGDA).
Mostafa Kamal, Chairman & Managing Director of Meghna Group of Industries; Dr Abdul Muktadir, President of Bangladesh Association of Pharmaceutical Industries and Chairman & MD of Incepta Pharmaceuticals Ltd; S M Shafiuzzaman, Secretary General of Bangladesh Association of Pharmaceutical Industries; and Prof Dr Firoj Ahmed Dean (Acting), Faculty of Pharmacy of University of Dhaka; were present as special guests.
