Sunanda too strong for suicide, says son

Indian minister Shashi Tharoor is incapable of harming his wife Sunanda Pushkar, let alone kill her, says Shiv Menon, Pushkar’s son from an earlier marriage. He also said his mother was too strong to commit suicide, said Menon in a written statement on Wednesday, reports NDTV. The son attributed his mother’s death to an "unfortunate combination of media stress, tensions and wrong mix of different medications." Sunanda Pushkar Tharoor, wife of union minister Shashi Tahroor, was found dead by her husband in the room of a five-star hotel in Delhi on Jan 17. Doctors of the medical board that conducted the 52-year old Sunanda’s autopsy said she died a “sudden and unnatural death”. Anti-depressant, Alprazolam, was found in her system and a probe was on to find if the minister’s wife had a prescription for the drug she had taken. The medicine also known as Alprax is easily available and used by people suffering from anxiety, sleep disorder and depression, according to a news agency.
