Sunil Joshi extends BD contract until World Cup 2019

Having curiously missed out on selection to the 1999 World Cup, Sunil Joshi will have his first taste of international cricket's showpiece 50-over event next summer, reports Cricbuzz.
The former Indian left-arm spinner's tenure as spin consultant with the Bangladesh national team has been extended till the World Cup in England and Wales between May and July 2019, an almost natural progression considering he has been with the Asian side in the same capacity since August 2017.
"It's a great opportunity, and am thankful to the Bangladesh Cricket Board for having kept the trust in me," Joshi, who played 69 One-Day Internationals between 1996 and 2001, said from Chattogram on Sunday, a day after Bangladesh registered their first Test win at home against West Indies.
However, he has tremendous knowledge of what to expect from England and, alongside head coach Steve Rhodes, is well positioned to plan the roadmap for the World Cup.
"It is very important to play a good brand of cricket. We have been doing well in white-ball cricket, showing more consistency in the middle overs with the bat while chasing, and focusing on PowerPlay bowling, which really makes a difference," he pointed out.
