Sunrise programme of Scouting centenary at Mouchak

GAZIPUR, Aug 1 (BSS): A Sunrise Programme of Bangladesh Scouts was held at the National Scout Training Centre, Mouchak here today marking the centenary of the Scout movement that began on August 1, 1907 in England.
Muhammad Abu Hena, former International Commi-ssioner of Bangladesh Scouts and former Chief Election Commissioner of Bangladesh, was the chief guest of the Centenary Sunrise Pro-gramme, while M Fazlur Rahman, Chief National Commissioner of Bangladesh Scouts, was the 'principal scout personality' on the occasion.
Mihir Kanti Mazumder, National Commissioner (CD and H), presided over the function. Mohammad Mosharraf Hossain Bhuiyan, Secretary Primary and Mass Education Ministry and Vice President of Bangladesh Scouts, was present as the special guest.
Mohammad Jainal Abedin, International Commissioner, Bangladesh Scouts, gave welcome address, while vote of thanks was given by Md Abul Kalam Azad, National Commissioner Bangladesh Scouts.
A colourful rally was brought out in the camp area. To mark 100 years of Scout movement, foundation of a sculpture was laid at the entrance of Mouchak National Scout Training Centre by Hamuduzzaman Khan of Dhaka University. Around 1,500 participants attended the Programme.
