Super League fetches Tk 2.0m for BFF

The Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) earned approximately Tk 2.0 million (Tk 20 lakh) from ticket sales in the Citycell Super League, bdnews24.com reports.
Harun-ur Rashid, chairman of the tournament committee and BFF member, said Tk 19,38,360 had been earned through selling tickets in 21 matches, including the final.
"It was Tk 0.5 million more than our estimated income of Tk 1.5 million ," said Harun at a thanks-giving programme at the BFF House in the city Sunday.
Of the total income, Tk 7, 68,530 came from the final match," said tournament committee vice-chairman Shawkat Ali Khan Jahangir.
He added that some 27,600 tickets were sold on the final match and more than 5000 tickets were given free to the different sport organisations.
Claiming the Bangabandhu National Stadium has a capacity of 35,000 spectators, Jahangir also said the eastern galleries were open for the school students from the first match to the final game.
Mohammedan Sporting Club won the final match and won the Tk 10 million (Tk 1.0 crore) prize money beating Dhaka Abahani 1-0.
