Supportive government policies needed
Tuesday, 24 February 2009
OUR private sector has many achievements. Governments in underdeveloped countries cannot do much because they have to struggle to meet the basic needs of the people. The government should, therefore, be more positive towards the private sector. The government should formulate policies that can be implemented. Doing business is not a good idea for the government. Teletalk is a case in point. Despite its unrivalled network, Teletalk is not running well. Similarly, no other public sector organisation without exception, is giving good results.
I think our government should formulate rules and regulations that would facilitate smooth running of business organisations in a fair and competitive environment. With supportive government policies, many sectors in Bangladesh can achieve a lot.
