Suspected burglar lynched in Jhalakati

A suspected burglar was killed in a lynch-mob attack while fleeing after stealing goods from a house in Boro Koibarto Khali village in Rajapur Upazila of Jhalakati district on Wednesday. The deceased was identified as Monir Hossain, 32, son of late Abdul Aziz of Chhoto Koibarto Khali village of the Upazila. Locals said Monir entered the house of one Fazlul Karim in Boro Koibarto Khali village around 3:30am and took some valuables from the house. However, the house inmates sensed the burglary taking place and chased the thief. Later, the neighbours rushed out of their houses and encircled Monir while fleeing with the booties. The mob managed to catch Monir and gave him a good beating, leaving him dead on the spot, according to a news agency.
