Suspected killer of city AL ward leader arrested

Law enforcers finally arrested a suspected killer of Awami League leader Fazlul Haque from Gopalganj district Thursday night six days after the sensational murder, plainclothes police said.
After an intelligence report, a team of detective branch (DB) conducted a drive at Borodia village in Maksudpur of the district and arrested Dulal (32) for his alleged link to the killing.
The DB officials made the disclosure at a press briefing at its Minto Road headquarters Friday morning where the arrestee admitted his involvement in the shooting incident.
"Six professional killers took part in the murder. Liton, Kalu and I shot on the ruling party leader from very close range before leaving the place," he said, adding that he was given Tk 5,000 and some drugs for the successful mission.
Other killers are Ranju, Selim and Shamim, he said, informing that they chalked out the killing plan at the capital's Sher-e-Banglanagar slum.
