Suspended Sylhet mayor Ariful denied bail

HABIGANJ, June 28 (UNB): A court rejected on Sunday bail petition of suspended Sylhet City Corporation mayor Ariful Haque Chowdhury in an explosion case filed in connection with the killing of ex-finance minister SAMS Kibria.
District and Sessions Judge M Atabullah passed the order after hearing a bail petition submitted by the lawyer of Ariful Haque.On November 13 in 2014, CID submitted a supplementary charge sheet against 32 people, including former state minister for Home Lutfozzaman Babar, former prime minister Khaleda Zia's political secretary Harris Chowdhury and Sylhet City Corporation mayor Ariful Haque Chowdhury, in the Kibria murder case.
