SYLHET: The admission tests for the first year Honours courses for 2013-14 academic session of Shahjalal University of Science and Technology (SUST) will be held as per the schedule as Islami Chhatra Shibir has withdrawn its agitation programme.
Shibir called off its hartal for Thursday and Friday in Sylhet division and an indefinite strike at SUST following a negotiation with the university administration, according to a news agency.
SUST registrar Mohammad Isfakul Hossain said Shibir has withdrawn the agitation programmes in the interest of the university.
On Monday, the pro-Jamaat student organisation’s Sylhet city unit announced to stage general strike in the division for Thursday and Friday.
The SUST admission test is scheduled to be held on Friday.
The written examination will be held in 22 centres across the city, including the SUST campus.
The admission test of ‘A’ unit will be held from 9:30am while that of ‘B’ unit from 3pm, said campus sources.
The seat arrangement of the admission test can be known from the university’s website www.sust.edu and through sending an SMS typing ‘SUST SEAT Roll No’ to 2323 from any mobile phone.
