SUST teacher attacked at own office

A teacher of Sylhet's Shahjalal University of Science and Technology (SUST) was hacked by one of his students on Thursday. Social Works Department head Neaz Ahmed was attacked with knife and machete at his office. He had been rushed to MAG Osmani Medical College and Hospital in Sylhet city, said SUST Assistant Proctor Niloy Chandra Sarker. According to him, Ahmed was attacked around 10.15am at his office by a student of his department, Wayes Ahmed, with a knife and machete. The attack left the SUST teacher with injuries in the head, eyes and other parts of the body. The student has been arrested and expelled from the university. ‘Wayes was temporarily expelled immediately after the incident. The processes to expel him for life is already on,’ said SUST Vice-Chancellor Aminul Islam Bhuiyan, according to bdnews24.com.
