SUST teachers announce 3-day work abstention

A section of pro-liberation teachers of Shahjalal University of Science and Technology (SUST) have announced a three-day work abstention programme from this (Tuesday) morning protesting Sunday’s attack on their colleagues allegedly by the activists of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL). The announcement came at a meeting of Mohan Muktijuddher Chetonay Udbuddho Shikkhak Parishad held on the campus in Sylhet on Monday evening. The programme is also meant for demanding immediate removal of SUST Vice-chancellor Prof Dr Aminul Haque Bhuiya, convener of the Parishad Prof Syed Shamsul Alam said. The teachers will bring out a rally holding black badges on the campus at 10am on Tuesday and will observe the same programme tomorrow (Wednesday). They will observe a token hunger strike in front of the VC office on Thursday along with the work abstention, according to a news agency.
