Swaraj to meet Khaleda Friday

Indian Foreign Minister Sushma Swaraj will meet BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia on Friday. Addressing a press conference in the city, the BNP chairperson’s press secretary Maruf Kamal Khan said the meeting will take place at some time in the morning. He said the place and time would be announced later. ‘The BNP wants to maintain a friendly relationship with India. Former prime minister Khaleda Zia met Swaraj in October 2013 while visitng India,’ Maruf Kamal Khan said. ‘The BNP hopes that under the newly-elected government in New Delhi the relations between the two countries will flourish. We hope that the change that happened in India in a democratic election will open new hoirizons in Bangladesh.’ The press secretary reiterated Khaleda Zia’s position of building relations with the people of a nation rather than any particular party.
