Swechchhasebak Dal leader shot in Mirpur

A local leader of the Swechchhasebak Dal has been shot and injured in the capital's Mirpur-10 area, reports UNB.
The injured is Saiful Islam Siju (40).
The joint convener of Mirpur Thana Swechchhasebak Dal Saiful sustained bullet wounds to his waist and both legs, said Officer-in-Charge of Mirpur Model Police Station Md Hafizur Rahman .
Saidul, a neighbour who took Siju to Dhaka Medical College Hospital, said the victim was standing in front of his office on Munshi Bari Road on Wednesday night when a group of three to five men, allegedly led by Zakir Hossain Shanto (27), opened fire indiscriminately, leaving him critically injured around 9:15 pm.
Locals chased the attackers as they attempted to escape and managed to catch one of them, Shanto Bhuiyan, with a firearm .
