Sweden will give BD Tk 29m for personnel, consultancy fund

The government of Sweden will provide 2.5 million Swedish Krona (SEK) or approximately Tk 29 million (Tk 2.9 crore) to Bangladesh for the 'Personnel and Consultancy Fund', reports UNB.
The fund will be used for travel related costs for Bangladeshi candidates who have been approved to take part in international training programmes/courses arranged by the Swedish International Development Co-operation Agency, Sida.
An agreement to this effect was signed between the governments of Bangladesh and Sweden at the Economic Relations Division (ERD) on Monday.
ERD joint secretary Nurjahan Begum and Swedish Charge d' Affaires Karin Rohlin signed the agreement on behalf of their respective government. Officials from both sides were present on the occasion.
The duration of the agreement is from April 1, 2014 to March 31, 2017.
Sweden as a development partner of Bangladesh is also providing financial assistance to the country's various development sectors such as primary healthcare, basic education, human rights and democratic governance, and urban environment.
