Swimmer Palash earns silver medal in SA Beach Games

Bangladeshi swimmer Palash Chowdhury, a BKSP student, earned silver medal in the "run-swim-run" of life saving event of the First South Asian Beach Games at Hambantota in Sri Lanka Monday, reports UNB.
Sri Lankan competitor Shahana Rupasinghe won the gold while another Lankan NS Priyasangka took the bronze medal of the event, participated by eight competitors representing India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh.
Earlier, in the games marathon swimming (5-kilometre) Monday, Palash Chowdhury finished 5th among the six competitors clocking 1:17.35.45 ahead of Maldives swimmer Anwar.
Indian swimmer Roark clinched the top slot of the marathon event clocking 1:05.59.50, followed by Madar of India (1:06.36.52), Pathum of Sri Lanka (1:09.29.32) and Uvindu of Sri Lanka (1:14.11.12).
Bangladesh clinched the gold medal in the First South Asian Beach Games Football upsetting hosts Sri Lanka Monday.
