Switching to public transport
Monday, 4 April 2022
The Russian invasion of Ukraine has triggered a global energy crisis. This has left many countries struggling to meet their internal demands. In Bangladesh, the latest increase in fuel oil prices has added to the woes of people of the fixed income groups who have already been under stress due to the high prices of essential commodities for months. The diesel and kerosene price hike has caused a further increase in the prices of essential commodities and an increase in the living costs, including transport costs, once again.
In this situation, one of the best options to save money on fuel is to switch to public transport. For this the authorities concerned should encourage everyone to use public transport instead of private ones. But the public transports, particularly bus services, should be good enough.
