Syedpur rly workshop being modernised

Our Correspondent NILPHAMARI, Dec 19: Modernization and rehabilitation of Syedpur railway workshop has started recently. Workshop sources said government has undertaken the modernization project on an expenditure of Tk. 1140 million. The renovation work is to be completed in three phases. In the first phase different buildings and structures would be renovated. At present replacement of ceilings of the buildings of different shops or sections is going on. Renovation of offices of in-charge officers and employees would begin soon and one overhead water tank would also be build. Old railway tracks around the workshop which is connected with the Syedpur railway station would also be renovated. In the second and third phase mechanical and electrical equipment will be installed. Sources added the renovation works will be completed within two years.
