Sylhet city mayor hospitalised

Sylhet City Corporation Mayor Ariful Haque Chowdhury was admitted to United Hospital in Dhaka on Saturday. Family sources said on Friday, Mayor Arif was admitted to Mount Adora Hospital in Sylhet city after he complained of severe chest pain at about 8:00pm while returning home after attending a meeting. Doctors at the hospital diagnosed him to have suffered a heart attack and he was then shifted to the coronary care unit there. Later a medical board was formed which referred him to Dhaka. Dr Sudhamoy Majumdar, chief health officer of SCC, said as per the decision of the medical board, Mayor Arif was taken to United Hospital by an air ambulance on Saturday morning. A Milad Mahfil has been arranged to be held at Sylhet city’s Dargah Mosque after Zohr prayers on Saturday seeking his early recovery, according a news agency.
