Sylhet defeat Barisal by 14 runs, Ctg beat Dhaka by 3 wkts

Golam Mabud hit a century guiding Sylhet Division to win their first one-day match of the Ispahani Mirzapore Tea 9th National Cricket League beating Barisal Division by 14 runs in the 4th round at the Narayanganj Osmani Stadium (NOS) Wednesday, reports UNB.
In another one-day match at the Mirpur Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium (SBNS), visiting Chittagong Division notched their 2nd win defeating Dhaka Division by three wickets.
After the 4th round, Chittagong Division secured four points, holders Dhaka Division remained at previous four points, Sylhet Division collected two points with the day's win while Barisal Division is yet to open their account.
Sent into bat first at the NOS, Golam Mabud scored 100 runs off 116 balls with 12 fours and two sixes as Sylhet Division made 225 for 9 in the stipulated 50 overs. Mabud was later adjudged man of the match.
This was also the 4th century in the one-day version of the ongoing league after Tamim Iqbal (Chittagong Division), Junaed Siddiqui (Rajshahi Division) and Imrul Kayes (Khulna Division).
Middle order Sharifullah gave useful support to Mabud scoring 38 runs off 58 balls with four boundaries while lower middle order Ejaz Ahmed hammered 30 runs off 27 balls with two fours and a six.
Sumon Kumar Saha claimed three wickets for 38 runs in 10 overs, while Arafat Salahuddin and pacer Sajidul Islam took two wickets apiece.
Chasing a moderate target, top order Raqibul Hasan tried his best with unbeaten 87 runs off 128 balls with five fours and a six, but it was not enough as Barisal Division was restricted to 211 for 8 in 50 overs.
All-rounder Arafat Salahuddin, who took Barisal Division to a thrilling two-wicket win over Sylhet in the four-dayers, scored 41 runs off 44 balls with two fours and a six.
Opener Imran Ahmed also got a start, but perished after scoring 40 runs off 72 balls with six boundaries.
Left-arm spinner Enamul Haque Jr captured four wickets for 50 runs in 10 overs while pacer Shuvashish Roy grabbed two wickets for 35 runs.
In the Dhaka-Chittagong match, opting to bat first at the SBNS, a commendable fifty from Mosharraf Hossain Rubel along with some handy knocks from skipper Mohammad Ashraful and Mehrab Hossain Jr enabled Dhaka Division to post 253 for 9 in 50 overs.
Number three Rubel scored a patient 69 runs off 107 balls with four fours while Ashraful made 45 off 48 balls with two sixes. Mehrab 34, Al Shahriar Rokon 23, veteran Mohammad Rafique 22 and Mahmudullah Riyad 19 were the other notable scorers.
Kamrul Islam captured three wickets for 35 runs in 10 overs, while pacer Sabbir Khan and Tareq Aziz took two wickets apiece.
In reply, opener Nafees Iqbal and Faisal Hossain Dickens scored fifties to enable Chittagong Division reach the target of 254 for 7 with three balls to spare.
Faisal contributed innings highest 52 off 62 balls with three fours to be adjudged man of the match while Nafees scored 50 runs off 80 balls with three fours.
Besides, opener Mahbubul Karim 46, Aftab Ahmed 38, Nazimuddin 34 and Dhiman Ghosh not out 20 made some handy contributions to see their side notch a victory after conceding a three-wicket defeat in the four-day match.
Veteran left-arm spinner Mohammad Rafique snared three wickets for 40 runs in 10 overs while Ashraful, Rubel and pacer Mohammad Sharif took one wicket each.
