Sylhet Jatiyatabadi Tarun Projonmo Dal chief held

Police arrested Sylhet district unit president of Jatiyatabadi Tarun Projonmo Dal (JTPD) from Ambarkhana area in the divisional city on Wednesday night. The arrestee was identified as Layek Ahmed, president of the district unit of JTPD and son of Nazmul Haque, a resident of Purba Shaplabagh of the city. Shafiq, sub-inspector (SI) of Airport Police Station, said Layek was arrested around 10:30pm. The arrestee is wanted in several cases filed with Kotwali, Shahporan and Airport police stations, he added, according to a news agency.
