Sylhet Shibir president among 6 held

Police arrested six leaders and activists of Islami Chhatra Shibir, including its east district president S M Monwar Hossain, from a house in Sylhet city’s residential area on Saturday night. Tipped off, a team of Shah Poran Police Station, led by officer-in-charge Shakhawat Hossain conducted a deive on a house in the area around 9:00pm and arrested them while they were holding an organisational meeting, said Jedan Al Musa, additional deputy commissioner of Sylhet Metropolitan Police. Police said the arrestees were wanted in several cases, according to a news agency.
