Transport strike in the Sylhet Division has been suspended till Nov 30 with owners and workers offering a respite.
Transport Owner-Worker Resistance Committee Convenor Md Jamir Ahmed announced their decision Tuesday evening following a meeting with the administration.
He said the strike was being suspended after an assurance from the authorities that their seven-point demands would be met.
But Ahmed made it clear the strike would resume if the authorities went back on their word.
Sylhet District Road Transport Owner-Worker Unity Council and Transport Owner-Worker Resistance Committee have been on strike since Tuesday morning, halting long-haul and inter-district bus services, according to a news agency.
