Symbols allotted to 32 candidates of N'ganj

NARAYANGANJ, Dec 12 (BSS): Returning Officer of the district today allotted election symbols to 32 candidates of different political parties and alliances contesting in the upcoming 9th parliamentary polls in five constituencies of the district.
Candidates and their supporters were present during the allotment of election symbols in the conference of deputy commissioner (DC) in the morning.
Awami league candidate SM Akram of Narayanganj-Bandar constituency no-5 was not allotted election symbol as the party chief of central parliamentary committee of Bangladesh Awami League Sk Hasina withdrew his party candidature, returning office sources said.
SM Akram, however, did not withdraw his nomination paper. The constituency-wise break-up of final list of candidates with their election symbols are given below.

Returning office sources said the nomination papers of 52 candidates were submitted in the election office while in scrutiny 13 were cancelled, 7 withdrawn and the rest 32 were declared valid to participate in the Parliamentary Election to be held on December 29.
