Syndicate jacking up prices of essentials: BNP

A BNP leader alleges the government syndicate is manipulating prices during Ramadan. The BNP has alleged that the prices of essential commodities have gone up during Ramadan due to the ‘manipulation’ by a syndicate of ruling party-backed businessmen. “The government has increased the prices of commodities during the month of Ramadan instead of checking them,” Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi told a press briefing at the party’s Naya Paltan headquarters on Wednesday, according to a news agency.
