NILPHAMARI, Nov 16: Agriculture officials of the district are expecting to achieve the production target set for transplanted Aman this year.
Local farmers are also expecting a good yield of T-Aman crop in the current harvesting season.
Despite initial setbacks, including prolonged droughts, the farmers finally could overcome the hurdles.
The harvesting of T-Aman is expected to begin from the third week of this month.
Sources at the Department of Agricultural Extension, Nilphamari said plantation of T-Aman seedlings had been delayed due to drought at the beginning of the season and during the time deep tubewells, swallow tube-wells, and other irrigation devices were put into operation by the farmers.
Later on, heavy rainfall helped growers to complete the transplantation process.
