T-Aman production target fixed at 0.33m tonnes in Jamalpur

JAMALPUR, July 02 (BSS): The Department of Agriculture Extension (DAE) has fixed a target of T-Aman (Transplanted Aman) cultivation on 1,11,000 hectares with a production aim at 3, 32,194 tonnes of rice in the district this current Kharip-2 season.
According to DAE office sources, the target of 31000 hectares with a production target 90294 tonnes is in Jamalpur sadar while 15210 hectares with a production target 44626 tonnes in Sarishabari, 17060 hectares with a production target 49252 tonnes in Melandah, 10730 hectares with a production target 29408 tonnes in Islampur, 8655 hectares with a production target 27022 tonnes in Dewanganj, 15110 hectares with a production target 46464 tonnes in Madarganj and 13235 hectares with a production target 45128 tonnes in Bakshiganj.


Farmers prepared T- Aman seed bed on 1100 hectares against the target of 5381 hectares until on July 02.
To increase food production, 8000 small and marginal farmers in all the seven upazilas of the district got incentive on HYV seed and fertiliser for cultivation of T-Aman.
Each of the farmers got five kilograms of Aush paddy seed, 10 kilograms Di-ammonium phosphate (DAP) fertiliser and 10 kilograms Muriate of Potash (MOP) fertiliser free of cost for cultivating one bigha.
Besides, 4000 small and marginal farmers also got high-breed variety seed free of cost under the incentive programme.
Deputy Director, DAE, Zakia Sultana said, to increase food production, incentive on T-Aman cultivation was disbursed among the farmers in the district. Preparation of T-Aman seed bed is continuing, she added.
