Tagore evening in Dhaka

The Indira Gandhi Cultural Centre (IGCC) organised a Tagore programme in Dhaka on Friday evening. Styled ‘Tomar Oshime’, the Tagore evening brought together Bangladesh and Indian artistes. Rabindranath Tagore is the common poet of India and Bangladesh. Music and dance dominated the show which began in National Museum auditorium in the city’s Shahbagh around 6:30pm. Entry was free. Indian singer Shreya Guhathakurta who was trained under legends of Rabindra Sangeet such as Suchitra Mitra and Konika Bandopadhyay performed with a group of Bangladeshi artistes, according to a release.
