Taiwanese co to invest $ 22.17m in Karnaphuli EPZ

A Taiwanese company, M/s Greenland Footwear (BD) Limited, will set up a footwear manufacturing unit in the extension area of Karnaphuli Export Processing Zone (EPZ), a press release said.
The industrial unit will be a 100 per cent foreign owned company. The company will invest about $ 22.17m (Tk 150 crore) in setting up their plant and with a capacity of exporting annually 3.60 million pairs of finished shoes and footwear. The company will also create employment opportunity for 3540 Bangladeshis and 40 foreign nationals.
An agreement in this connection has been signed between the EPZ authority and the M/s. Greenland Footwear (BD) Limited at BEPZA Complex in the city Sunday.
