Taiwanese factory MD robbed

Comilla, Jan 29 (UNB): The managing director of a Taiwanese factory, situated in Comilla EPZ, has been robbed of Tk 3.1 million (31 lakh).
The victim, Huangju Yu, MD of Taiwanese 'Yogotex Fabrics Co Ltd', has filed a case with Kotwali Model Police Station against Sohel Ibn Mohiuddin, son of AHM Mohiuddin of Thompson Bridge area in the city, and 5-6 unknown people.
According to the case statement, the Taiwanese firm's top boss was abducted by a group of 5-6 people, allegedly led by Sohel, from his rented apartment in the Housing Estate area of the city on Wednesday noon.
The miscreants took him to an unknown place where they beat him up and demanded a huge ransom for his release.
Later, the miscreants brought the victim back to his residence and forced him to sign a Tk 23-lakh cheque at gunpoint. They instantly transferred the amount to the bank account of a business enterprise after 'Ab Yaj Enterprise'.
