Take approval from CHT dist parishads before transfer: JS body

The Parliamentary Standing Committee on Chittagong Hill Tracts Affairs Ministry  Wednesday suggested all the ministries to take approval from the district parishad concerned for transferring their officials to the Chittagong Hill Tracts (CHT), according to news agency.
It also asked the ministries to inform the CHT Affairs Ministry about transfer of their officials to the CHT region.
The parliamentary watchdog came up with the recommendation at its 4th meeting held at Jatiya Sangsad with its chairman Obaidul Muktadir Chowdhury in the chair.
Besides, the committee suggested different ministries and government agencies to send a copy of each allocation and development programme taken for the CHT area to the CHT Affairs Ministry to include that in the main budget.
Committee members State Minister for CHT Affairs Bir Bahadur Ushwe Sing, M Abdul Latif, Kujendra Lal Tripora, Ushatan Talukder, MA Awal and Firoja Begum Chino attended the meeting.
