Take lessons from integrity of Bangabandhu: Quader

Wednesday, 24 February 2021

Ruling Awami League general secretary Obaidul Quader on Tuesday emphasised taking lessons from the integrity of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman intending to steer the country ahead by facing future challenges, reports BSS.
"To fulfill the dream of Bangabandhu, We have to strengthen Sheikh Hasina's hand … by taking lessons from his (Bangabandhu ) honesty for moving the country ahead by facing all the imminent challenges," he said.
The minister came up with the advices while joining a discussion organised by the Roads and Highways Department (RHD) marking 'Bangabandhu's birth centenary through videoconferencing from his official residence in the city on Tuesday.
Chaired by Roads and Highways Division Chief Engineer M Abdus Sabur, the meeting virtually was attended, among others, by Bangabandhu Birth Centenary Celebration National Implementation Committee Chief Coordinator Dr Kamal Abdul Naser Chowdhury, Columnist Syed Abul Maksud, Road Transport and Highway Division Secretary M Nazrul Islam, Prime Minister's Office Secretary M Tofazzal Hossain Mia and other Roads and Highways Department officials.
Later, joining with Chatmohor Upazila Awami League conference, Quader, also the road transport and bridges minister, said, "BNP's demonstration plan now shrouded in darkness under the development politics led by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. To cover up their failure, BNP is allegedly trying to jeopardise the peace of the people in the name of planned movement," he added.
Noting that BNP's ill political motive on corona vaccination also has been rejected by the people like their failure in election and staging movement, the AL leader said adding they had tried to make a corruption and panicked story on vaccination, but the people did not pay heed to their ill motive.
" Even a total of 23 lakh people so far have received the corona vaccines in last thirteen days which proved an excellent and patriotic leadership message of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina," Quader told the meeting.
Conducting propaganda against the government in home and abroad, committing arson attack by the BNP and the recent smear campaign by the Aljazeera against the government and the country are interlinked, he said.
Quader asked the party leaders concerned to form committee through conference, as any pocket committee would never be allowed. Leaders must be made depending on the support and opinion of the activists, he added.
Chaired by Chatmohor Upazila AL president Advocate Shakhawat Hossen, the conference was also attended, among others, by AL Organising Secretary SM Kamal Hossen, AL central committee members Nurul Islam Thandu, Merina Jahan Kabita and Abdul Awal Shamim, former State Minister for Home Affairs Shamsul Haq Tuku and district Awami League general secretary Golam Maruf Prince.
