Taking care of heart

Monday, 1 August 2022

The top cause of death worldwide is cardiovascular diseases. People nowadays do not get enough sleep, work too hard, consume unhealthy meals, and do not engage in physical activity much. And this is how they become the victims of cardiovascular diseases including heart attack, stroke and others.
We know that exercise and a good diet can keep our heart healthy. But what else can we do to keep our heart going strong? We need fats in our diet. But one type that we do not need is trans fat. It is industry-produced fat, often used in baked goods, snack foods, and fried fast foods to add flavour and texture. It is known to increase our risk of developing heart diseases.
Sleep is an essential part of keeping our heart healthy. In recent years, research has suggested that staying seated for long periods of time is bad for your health no matter how much exercise you do. Studies show that the risk of developing heart disease is about 25 to 30 per cent higher for those who are exposed to second-hand smoking at home or work. If we can take care of our heart's health on a regular-basis, it will be the best service we do to ourselves.
