Taking care of the image problem

WE are always reminded that Bangladesh is one of the poorest countries of the world. But other credible statistics defy this description. For example, on the list of the countries of the world sorted by their gross domestic product (GDP), which has been prepared by a multilater capital donor, Bangladesh stands 58th. Again, on the basis of GDP and Purchasing Power Parity (PPP), prepared by other international agencies, Bangladesh ranks at an even higher level. So, how come than that Bangladesh is so very poor?
The negative image projection affects foreign direct and indirect investments in Bangladesh. For the same reason, we receive not many tourist comparatively, though Bangladesh can be the haven of ecotourism. It is time to project Bangladesh in its proper perspective in the international arena.
