Tamim refuses to bow down as Tigers hang on

Opener Tamim Iqbal refused to bow down as he slammed a magnificent 151 while Tigers still kept breathing at the close on the third day of the Second Test match between Bangladesh and India at Sher-e- Bangla National Stadium in the city Tuesday, reports BSS.
Bangladesh started their second innings in 311 runs arrears, one thought Indian bowlers like the first innings would waste no time to pack the Tigers to complete their 2-0 rout.
But Bangladesh, led by brilliant Tamim Iqbal, was not ready to throw the towel tamely as he lashed on to exhibit some explosive arrays of shots as Bangladesh finished the day on 228 for three wickets still 83 runs to make India bat again when the stumps were drawn for the day.
Pacer Zaheer Khan with a late rally on two wickets in succession shattered the dream run between Tamim and Zunaid Siddique as they put on 200 runs for the second wicket stand. Earlier Imrul Kayes after scoring 5 also became Zaheeer's first victim in Bangladesh second innings.
Zaheer Khan first broke the mammoth stand when he forced Zunaid edge behind for a well compiled 55, laced with five boundaries. To make thing worse for Bangladesh, Tamim also played a tired shot was out in a similar manner leaving Bangladesh from 219 for one to 228 for three two overs before the close.
Earlier in the day, Indians decided to close their innings at 544 for eight at lunch after MS Dhoni's dream of century ended due to superb stumping by Mushfiqur Rahim off part time bowler Rokibul Hasan for a sparkling 89 studded with nine boundaries and two towering sixers.
