Tangail farmers expecting a bumper lentil production

TANGAIL, Feb 12: Lentil cultivators of 12 upazila of the district are expecting a bumper lentil production in the district.
Department of Agriculture Extension DAE Tangail sources said this year about 1510 hectares of land have been brought under lentil cultivation in the district with a hope for 1933 metric tonnes of lentil.
Alamgir Hossain a cultivator under Delduar upazila told the Financial Express that he had cultivated lentil on 2 bighas of his land and that he is expecting a good production this year.
DAE sources said that smooth supply of Agri-inputs such as fertiliser, pesticide facililated lentil cultivation in the area which made the farmers hoping for a bumper production during the current season.
