Tannery washing plant catches fire

A fire broke out at a tannery washing plant in the capital’s Hazaribagh on Friday. Fire Service sources said the fire originated in Karim Leather & Washing Plant around 2:35 pm. On information, seven fire fighting units from the city rushed in and doused the blaze after hectic efforts for nearly one and half hours. None was reported injured in the blaze, the sources said. In another incident, a fire broke out at a fourth floor flat of a six-storied building on Road 7/A, Dhanmondi, around 2:40 pm. Two fire fighting units rushed to the spot and doused the blaze after about half an hour, according to a news agency.
