Tareque again on fresh 5-day remand

NARAYAGANJ:  A court here Monday placed former Rab official Lt Col Tareque Sayeed on a fresh five-day remand in connection with the sensational Narayanganj 7-murder case, according to a news agency.
Narayanganj Senior Judicial Magistrate Chand Nirupam passed the order when police produced him before the court seeking seven-day remand.
Earlier, Tareque was remanded four times in connection with the same case.
Besides, two other ex-Rab officers Major Arif Hossain and Lt Commander MM Rana – who were dismissed along with Tareque Saeed, the son-in-law of Minister Mofazzal Hossain Maya – confessed to their involvement in the seven murders, and described the brutalities before the local court on June 4 and 5.
On May 17, police arrested Tareque and Arif from Dhaka Cantonment for their alleged involvement in the killing of the seven people.
