Tareque, Arif on fresh 5-day remand

NARAYANGANJ: A court here Friday placed former Rab officials Tareque Sayeed Mohammad and Arif Hossain on a fresh five-day remand in connection with the sensational Narayanganj seven-murder case. Senior Judicial Magistrate Shafiqul Islam passed the order when Detective Branch of Police Inspector Mamunur Rashid Mondal produced them before his court on the expiry of their second-phase eight-day remand with a seven-day remand prayer. Another former Rab officer, MM Rana, is now on second-phase eight-day remand in connection with the killing of seven people, including Narayanganj city panel mayor Nazrul Islam and senior lawyer Chandan Kumar Sarker. — UNB
