A Narayanganj court on Thursday placed former Rab officials — Tareque Sayeed Mohammad and Arif Hossain — on a fresh eight-day remand in connection with the sensational Narayanganj seven-murder case. Judicial Magistrate KM Mahiuddin passed the order when Detective Branch of Police Inspector Mamunur Rashid Mondal produced them before his court on the expiry of their five-day remand. The IO prayed to the court for showing the two former officers of Rapid Action Battalion-11 arrested in the case, saying many evidence suggest that they were involved in the seven murders, and sought a 10-day remand for them. After hearing, the court put the duo on eight days’ remand. No lawyer stood for the accused Rab officers on Thursday. Former Rab officer Lt Commander MM Rana is now on a seven-day remand in connection with the killing of seven people, including Narayanganj City panel mayor Nazrul Islam, according to UNB.
