Tarique has no Facebook or blog accounts: BNP

BNP claimed Sunday that its senior vice- chairman Tarique Rahman, now living in London, has no Facebook or blog accounts.
“We’ve noticed some Facebook accounts in the name of our party senior vice- chairman Tarique Rahman with various statements posted there in his name,” said BNP’s acting secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, according to a news agency.
“I want to clearly state that Mr Tarique Rahman has no Facebook or blog accounts,” he added.
The BNP leader made the claim while addressing a press conference at the party’s Nayapaltan central office.
Fakhrul said neither BNP nor Tarique Rahman will take responsibility if any statement is posted in the fake accounts in his name.
He called upon people to refrain from opening fake Facebook accounts and posting statements in Tarique’s name.
The BNP spokesman also said they are trying to detect those indulging in such acts and will take legal steps to this end.
