Sunday, 19 October 2014

BNP’s Senior Vice Chairman Tarique Rahman has been sued over his recent comment on Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. Advocate Abdul Malek, alias Moshiur Malek, President of Bangabandhu Foundation, filed the case with Dhaka District and Sessions Judge’s Court on Sunday morning. On September 27, Tarique Rahman, also the elder son of BNP’s founder Late Ziaur Rahman and the party’s Chairperson Khaleda Zia, while addressing a programme in London claimed Ziaur Rahman was the first President of Bangladesh. Tarique Rahman has been staying in London for treatment since he was out on bail on September 3, 2008, according to a news agency.
