Tarun League leader killed in M\\\'singh

MYMENSINGH, Mar 14 (UNB): A local leader of local Tarun League was slaughtered by miscreants in the district town Friday.
The deceased was identified as Shafiqul Islam Selim (35), convener of the district unit of Tarun League, an associate wing of Awami League (AL).
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Kotwali Model Police Station Golam Sarwar said a group of miscreants called Selim out of his house in Satghoria area around 1pm and took him to nearby Hamed Ali Road area.
Later, the criminals first chopped Selim indiscriminately with sharp weapons and later slaughtered him.
Locals rushed him to Mymensingh Medical College Hospital where doctors pronounced him dead.
