Taskeen elected DCCI President

Taskeen Ahmed, Vice Chairman of IFAD Group, has been elected as the President of Dhaka Chamber of Commerce & Industry (DCCI) for the term 2025.
In addition, Razeev H Chowdhury has been elected as the Senior Vice President and Md Salem Sulaiman as the Vice President for the same term.
The new leadership took office at the 63rd Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the DCCI held at its auditorium in the capital on Sunday, says a statement.
The newly elected Directors for the term 2025-2027 are Enamul Haque Patwary, Md Mostafa Kamal, Minhaj Ahmed, Muhammad Zamsher Ali, Rasheed Mymunul Islam and Salman Bin Rashid Shah Sayeem.
Newly elected President Taskeen Ahmed is currently the Vice Chairman of IFAD Group, one of the largest and renowned conglomerates in Bangladesh engaged in operations across various industries like automotive, food processing and consumer goods sectors.
Mr Ahmed joined his family business in 1999. During his 25-year career, he led several business units in his Group. In addition, he has made significant contributions to the business community.
Mr Ahmed has also served as President of the India-Bangladesh Chamber of Commerce & Industry (IBCCI), Senior Vice President of Bangladesh Automobile Assemblers and Manufacturers Association (BAAMA) and Director of Dhaka Chamber of Commerce & Industry (DCCI).
His significant contribution has promoted stronger economic partnerships within the regional business landscape, advancing the interests of Bangladeshi businesses in the international stage.
Newly elected Senior Vice President Razeev H. Chowdhury is the Managing Director of Defense Dynamics Enterprise Limited, Arco Cold Storage Limited, Watches World Limited, Microsec International Limited and Independent Director of GSP Investment Limited.
His ventures are actively engaged in trading, retail, government and defense indenting, cold storage, IT and software development sector.
In addition to serving DCCI as the Director in 2023-2024, he was also the founding President (2005) of Junior Chamber International (JCI)-Bangladesh, Dhaka South, Member of Bangladesh Cold Storage Association (BCSA) and Member of Bangladesh Indenting Agents Association.
Mr Chowdhury is also an active member of Dhaka Club Ltd., Banani Club Ltd. and Uttara Club Ltd.
Md. Salem Sulaiman, the newly elected Vice President, is the Managing Director of Massons Polymer Corporation, Lalbagh Metal Industries Limited, Champion & Massons Limited and Proprietor of Samsons Corporation.
His businesses are engaged in indenting and sourcing international procurement, imports and distribution of variety of chemicals, especially petrochemicals, rubber chemicals, food products, metal industries and
domestic trading.
He served the DCCI as a Director in 2024 and in 2006-2008.
He is also the Vice President of Bangladesh-Thai Chamber of Commerce & Industry (BTCCI) and an active member of Korea-Bangladesh Chamber of Commerce & Industry (KBCCI) & Bangladesh Indenting Agents Association.
