Commerce Minister Faruk Khan said Saturday a taskforce would be formed by this month with the representatives of all stakeholders to keep Bangladesh away from the fallout of global financial downswing, reports UNB.
"The government is working on it and a taskforce headed by the finance minister will be formed to finalise a financial survival package for the sectors which are being affected by the global recession," he said.
He came up with the disclosure while addressing the inaugural session of a workshop titled 'Global Partnership for Development' at a city hotel.
Shamunnay, a private development organisation, in association with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) hosted the workshop with Dr Atiur Rahman in the chair.
