Friday, 28 March 2014

The Cabinet Division has formed a high-profile taskforce to bring back the fugitives who have fled abroad. Headed by the Law Minister, the 10-member task force also includes the Foreign Minister, the State Minister for Home, the Attorney General and other senior officials of related ministries and law enforcement agencies. The taskforce will work on preparing a list of the Bangladeshi fugitives living abroad and take steps to find out their locations through reliable sources. It will chalk out the ways to bring the fugitives back to the country to ensure their trial and monitor the total repatriation process. The taskforce will also plan for the repatriation of fugitives even if they had already been granted the citizenship of the country where they are hiding. The Home Ministry will be responsible for the secretarial works of the task force, according to UNB.
