Taskforce to examine powder milk import from China

The government has formed an inter-agency taskforce to examine the import and marketing of powdered milk produced in China without obtaining certification from the authorities concerned. Headed by additional secretary of the commerce ministry Golam Mustafa, the 15-member taskforce has been asked to submit recommendations within 15 days, said a press release of the commerce ministry. The taskforce will determine the bands of powdered milk being imported from China and marketed locally without certification as per the import policy. It will also identify the people responsible for such irregularities. —FE Report
