Tawfique new chairman of Oriental Bank

Former deputy governor of Bangladesh Bank (BB) and Institute of Bankers Bangladesh Secretary General AH Tawfique Ahmed has been appointed chairman of The Oriental Bank Limited.
The BB issuing an order appointed him the chairman of the bank.
After obtaining his post-graduation from Dhaka University, Tawfique started his career in 1967 as a research officer in the then Pakistan Academy for Rural Development (now BARD).
Thereafter in 1970, he joined the then State Bank of Pakistan as a class-I officer.
In 1997, he was promoted as an executive director and was appointed managing director of Security Printing Corporation on deputation, where he served for more than three years.
After serving 31 years in the BB, Taufique went into retirement in 2001. He attended many seminars and workshops in the US, the Philippines, Japan, Singapore, Hong Kong, Thailand and India.
